You Will Be Praising a Sinful Act
Rather Than Rebuking It
A Christian should not attend a mixed marriage wedding because he or
she will be praising a sinful act rather than rebuking it. Some will
claim that to attend such a wedding is to show love and acceptance for
the sinner, as Jesus did when He drank and ate with sinners. However,
there is a major difference between a sinner seeking to learn more
about God and wanting to change, and a Christian rejecting counsel and
determined to do what God forbids. Jesus admonished Christians to
rebuke such individuals.
Luke 17:3 Take heed to yourselves; if your brother sins, rebuke
him, and if he repents, forgive him.
1 Timothy 5:20 As for those who persist in sin, rebuke them
in the presence of all, so that the rest may stand in fear.
James 4:17 Whoever knows what is right to do and fails to do it,
for him it is sin.
