God is the Creator
Revelation 14:6,7 Then I saw another angel flying in midheaven, with
an eternal gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on earth, to every
nation and tribe and tongue and people; and he said with a loud voice,
"Fear God and give him glory, for the hour of his judgment has
come; and worship him who made heaven and earth, the sea and the
fountains of water."
"The duty to worship God is based upon the fact that He
is the Creator and that to Him all other beings owe their existence.
And wherever, in the Bible, His claim to reverence and worship, above
the gods of the heathen, is presented, there is cited the evidence
of His creative power. "All the gods of the nations are idols:
but the Lord made the heavens" (Ps. 96:5). "To whom then
will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One. Lift up
your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things."
"Thus saith the Lord that created the heavens; God Himself that
formed the earth and made it: . . . I am the Lord; and there is none
else" (Isa. 40:25, 26; 45:18)." --Lift Him Up, p. 51
God the Father created the world by His Son.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Colossians 1:16 For in him all things were created, in heaven
and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions
or principalities or authorities-all things were created through him
and for him.
The Father wrought by His Son in the creation of all heavenly
beings. "By him were all things created, . . . whether
they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things
were created by him, and for him" (Col. 1:16). Angels are God's
ministers, radiant with the light ever flowing from His presence and
speeding on rapid wing to execute His will. But the Son, the anointed
of God, the "express image of his person," "the brightness
of his glory," "upholding all things by the word of his
power," holds supremacy over them all (Heb. 1:3). --Lift Him
Up, p. 50.
Genesis 1:26 Then God said, "Let us make man in our image,
after our likeness. . .
The Father and the Son engaged in the mighty, wondrous work
they had contemplated--of creating the world. The earth came
forth from the hand of the Creator exceedingly beautiful. . . After
the earth was created, and the beasts upon it, the Father and
Son carried out their purpose, which was designed before the fall
of Satan, to make man in their own image. They had wrought
together in the creation of the earth and every living thing upon
it. And now God said to His Son, "Let us make man in our
image." --Lift Him Up, p. 47.
God created man for His own glory, that after test and trial the
human family might become one with the heavenly family. It was
God's purpose to re-populate heaven with the human family,
if they would show themselves obedient to His every word. Adam was
to be tested, to see whether he would be obedient, as the loyal angels,
or disobedient. If he stood the test, his instruction to his children
would have been only of loyalty. His mind and thoughts would have
been as the mind and thoughts of God. He would have been taught by
God as His husbandry and building. His character would have been moulded
in accordance with the character of God (Letter 91, 1900). --Ellen
G. White Comments, SDA Bible Commentary, Vol. 1, p. 1082.
Isaiah 45:18 For thus says the Lord, who created the heavens (he
is God!), who formed the earth and made it (he established it; he did
not create it a chaos, he formed it to be inhabited!): "I am the
Lord, and there is no other.
