Food/Fuel Storage
Food storage types:
- Fresh food. Refrigeration.
- Root cellar. Book.
- Dehydration. Dehydrator

Fruit storage
- Harvesting and storing apples. PDF from Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, 2008 revision. Most apples will last 3-5 months when stored at 30-32F and 90-95 percent relative humidity. If the humidity is not maintained, apples dehydrate and shrivel, particularly Golden Delicious. Apples should be kept in containers lined and covered with polyethylene to help retain the humidity. Apples can be stored in unperforated polyethylene bags. However, the bags should not be tied shut. After the fruit has cooled down, the open ends should be folded over.
- Polyethylene bags at Amazon. 18" x 24" FLAT, open at 18" end. Cost $18 for pack of 100, as of December, 2021.

- Dry Bean Food Storage Myth – Actual Shelf-Life Revealed. Beans cooked 5 different ways after 25 years of storage tasted great. Used a little bit of baking soda to soak the beans in water for about 4 hours before cooking. The stored beans should not be exposed to light and it will affect the flavor.
- Storage
Life of Dried Foods. Stored at 70 degrees and in the absence of
oxygen, brown rice will last 1-2 years. If you can get the temperature
down another ten degrees, it will double the storage life again. Because
of the essential fatty acids in brown rice, these oils quickly go
rancid as they oxidize.
